Who we are
Northwood Removals operates northwood-removals.co.uk and provides removals services across HA6 and internationally. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact hello@northwood-removals.co.uk.
What the quote form collects
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address
- The pickup address
- The drop-off address
- Your moving date, if you give one
- Anything you write in the notes field
We also receive standard technical information — IP address, browser type, pages visited — through analytics and anti-spam tooling.
Surveys and inventories
Surveys of larger properties are carried out in person and produce a record of what is in the house. Where you declare items of exceptional value, that declaration necessarily describes valuable property at a specific address.
We treat that information accordingly: it is held only as long as needed for the quote, the move and any subsequent insurance or claims period, shared only with the crew and insurers who need it, and never used for anything else. If you would prefer a valuation discussed rather than itemised in writing, say so.
Estate and building correspondence
Where an address is on a private road or within a managed estate, arranging access requires us to give the estate or managing agent the address and the date, and sometimes our insurance details. That disclosure is limited to what the estate requires.
Why we hold it
To answer your enquiry, survey and price the move, carry it out if you book, and keep records of completed work. The lawful bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing that contract, and our legitimate interest in running the business.
International moves
Removals leaving the UK require sharing information with customs agents, carriers and destination partners — typically your name, both addresses, identification or tax numbers you have supplied, and the inventory. That sharing is unavoidable if goods are to cross a border.
Who else sees it
Our staff and the systems we use to manage enquiries and jobs. We do not sell your information and we do not pass it to unrelated companies for marketing.
Cookies and analytics
Google Analytics to understand how pages are used, and Google reCAPTCHA to keep automated submissions off the quote form. Both set their own cookies under Google's terms. Content pages carry no other third-party tracking.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become bookings are kept while commercially useful and then deleted. Records of completed moves are kept as long as needed for accounting, insurance and legal purposes — longer where customs records must be retained.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, object to our use of it, or ask us to restrict that use. Email hello@northwood-removals.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we handle a request you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update this page.
