Removals in
Rickmansworth.
Over the county line and directly next door. Rickmansworth has more variety in a smaller space than Northwood does — old town streets, canal-side property, Victorian terraces and substantial family houses within a mile of each other.
Rickmansworth sits where the Chess, the Colne and the Gade meet, which explains both the Aquadrome and the fact that a good deal of its older property is close to water. It is a Metropolitan-line town like Northwood, but an older one — there was a town here long before the railway arrived.
That age is what makes it more varied to work in.
The parts of it
The old town and High Street
Narrow streets, parked both sides, and buildings that predate any thought of vehicle access. On some of these a full-size lorry will physically fit but will block the road while loading, which is manageable early in the morning and considerably less so at four in the afternoon. We check the street rather than the postcode.
Chorleywood Road and the larger houses
Substantial family property on generous plots running out towards Chorleywood and Loudwater — closest in character to Northwood, and where the bigger removals here come from. Long driveways, mature planting, and often a private road.
Canal-side and the Aquadrome
Property near the water, including some genuinely tight approaches. Worth flagging at survey: a few addresses here have no realistic vehicle access to the door at all, and the answer is a longer carry rather than a bigger van.
Batchworth and Batchworth Heath
The stretch between Rickmansworth and Moor Park. Mixed property, easier access than the town centre, and the natural bridge between the two halves of our patch.
Where we stop
We work Rickmansworth and Batchworth as core, and the Chorleywood and Croxley edges where it makes sense. The further towards Watford you go, the more likely it is that the Watford firm in this network is better placed — and we will say so rather than stretch.
For the move itself see house removals or apartment removals, and areas we cover for the rest of the patch.
Rickmansworth questions
Is Rickmansworth part of your normal patch?
Yes. It is over the Hertfordshire border but it sits directly next to Northwood and Moor Park, and we are there most weeks. It is a genuine extension of the patch rather than a postcode added to a list.
What is different from Northwood?
More variety and more age. Northwood is largely interwar; Rickmansworth has genuine old town property, canal-side and Aquadrome housing, Victorian terraces and substantial modern family houses all within a short distance. The access problems change street by street rather than area by area.
What about the older town-centre streets?
Narrow, parked both sides, and in places a full-size lorry will block the road while loading. We check the street beforehand and where needed bring a smaller vehicle and shuttle from a legal stopping point.
Do you cover Chorleywood and Croxley Green too?
The edges of both, and we will be honest about where we are stretching. Rickmansworth and Batchworth are core; the further out you go towards Watford the more likely it is that the Watford firm in this network is the better call.
Moving in or out of Rickmansworth?
Both addresses, roughly what is going, and whether the property is on a private road. We will arrange a survey and put the figure in writing.
